President is revealed to have paid hush money in order to sway the election, according to alleged accomplice;

Looks like this one got you up early (or kept you up late?), Amy. I know the feeling…
Daunting, dismaying, horrid, chilling, challenging. He is being hemmed in by a variety of democratic institutions that are, in the end, only as strong as the people’s determination to uphold them, and pressing their representatives to do their part. But sometimes it seems fragile, with too many of the people blinded and their representatives craven beyond words. In the end, I suspect we will live or die not so much by Democratic opposition, but by whether Republican leaders finally rediscover some decency within themselves and stand up to be counted.
