The light on my daughter’s face, and the face, were so beautiful that I said “I wish I could draw you,” and to my surprise she volunteered to hold still for 10-15 minutes.
It’s not a bad impression. It has that faraway look she has when she’s thinking. Naturally, it’s not as beautiful as the original.

Great job, but you are right about the original!

Striking! (Though I’m not sure what’s more impressive: the drawing, or your joint ability to have her sit still for that long!) There’s a lot to contemplate here, not the least of them being the light on the two sides of her face, her mouth, and that little cleft from nose to upper lip. Great job of “seeing,” Amy; nice example of the artist’s (and of course, the mother’s) intent gaze. Happy Mama Day!
