Jesus said to love our enemies, and I try to live by that, but it’s one of his toughest demands, and I admit that I am happy that Osama bin Laden is dead. However, I have no desire to dance on the man’s grave.

It is challenging to retain one’s own humanity when faced with the demise of one so inhumane. (Or so is my perception of him.) I’m vaguely reminded of the days when someone’s head was stuck on a pike and it was paraded through town…it’s a little disturbing. But I, too, felt great satisfaction of hearing he had been killed. Not joyful or happy or even glad, but satisfied.

sorrygnat
I don’t get the joyful hysteria! his life was tragic for all the wrong reasons he chose. so many people suffered because of him. but, it is not black and white, the good guys versus the bad guys. there’s so much intrigue out there; most aware women i talk to shake their heads at war, and the internecine forces duking it out. We live in a complicated age.

“However, I have no desire to dance on the man’s grave.”
Given that Osama bin Laden was reportedly buried at sea that might be a tad hard to do even if you did want to dance on Osama’s grave. 😉
