My partner and I have been together almost 19 years (we count our anniversary as the first time we kissed, since we haven’t been able to actually *get* married). However, we are planning to be married next year (by traveling to a state where it is legal). So then what? Will we start over and celebrate the anniversary of the wedding? Or keep counting? (I’m kind of looking forward to making a big deal out of 20!) Since the dates won’t be the same, maybe we just celebrate twice a year – any excuse for a celebration, right?! Definitely!
